Housing in Florence

TheDarkroom offers assistance in finding accommodation in student apartments, in families, in studios, in hotels of different levels or in youth hostels and gives students advice for any matter regarding their stay in Florence. All of the apartments can be located in the historical center and in the near surroundings. All of them are into the urban area and close to bus stops.

TheDarkroom carries out such an assistance service for free and it is not responsible for a good result of the search nor for problems that may arise between landowner and student. On request the school offers a pick up service from airport to centre. Pick up service costs 40 euro.

1. Family: Students can choose between a single or double room with breakfast or half-board (consisting in an italian breakfast & dinner). Use of kitchen is made available as an extra. Students are request to comply with the rules and habits of their Italian family. The use of telephone and washing-machine is to be considered as an extra.
2. Guest overnight have to be allowed by the host and the price depends on the host.
3. Standard Apartment: Students can share an apartment with other foreign or italian students, and/or with the owner. Apartments are furnished with all the essentials. Kitchen and bathrooms are to be shared. Telephone and washing-machine are not guaranteed. Students are requested to leave the apartment in good hygienic conditions.
4. Comfort Apartment: Upon request students can rent a comfort apartment or a studio in the historical town.
5. Hotels, tourist farmhouses and youth hostel: Upon request, the school can give assistance to book hotel rooms, hostels and accommodation in tourist farmhouses of all categories, even outside of Florence.

Accommodation price can include: utility expenses (electricity, heating and water), house cleaning before arrival and after departure, bed linen and towels.
Accommodation price never includes: telephone, deposit, Housing Service fee, airport pick up service fee.

Rental periods are:

1. Type - It lasts 4 weeks per month. Rentals start on Sunday afternoon and apartments have to be left on Sunday morning.
2. Type - It lasts one regular month from the first day of the month until the end of the month.
