Schedule: 2 classes per week of 4 hours each

This course supplies with basic notions of writing techniques to support a photographic essay, widening that way the possibilities of success of the final body of work. Ts is not a journalistic course, but a broad overview to understand how to link a written piece to a photographic essay. 

The course topics broaden from the news event to the written article, from how to start a piece to source analysis and professional ethics. Other subject maters are the study of various journalism types, how to choose the right image for the right piece, rules and specific rights, such as the protection of the minors.

During the course the student is asked to prepare a written essay. 

It is suggested to bring several photographic essays to analyze together with the teacher.

The goal of the course is to give a basic knowledge of the techniques necessary to write a piece to go together with a photographic essay. A specific level of self independence should be acquired, upgrading one’s skills to succeed in selling a reportage.   

No prerequisites, we do suggest to bring some examples of reportages to start writing a piece for.

No specific material is required.
