What makes us different from others? Working on professional projects already during the course
To work is the best way to learn: through our existing professional relationships, our students will participate to real projects already during the course, vying themselves with all the needs and problems of working with clients in fields like publishing, art, film and commercial. In this way, in addition to the skills and knowledge required, the student will leave the school with a concrete experience and the chance to start with a good resume and portfolio, to be presented to customers and graphic studies, both in Italy and in their own Country.
Our students will have access to long training periods (internship) at the various production facility in photography, video, web design, graphic design and multi-medial arts of Florence.
TheDarkroom is proud of its partnerships that will allow the best students of professional academic courses access to a priceless experience. Please note that internship is not for all. Not all students will have opportunity to attend internships. Companies usually make their selections and they want only the best students out of a class.
Aims and Objectives
The course is divided into three macro-areas, which are interwoven with each other to keep the attention span and ensure a good hybridization of the acquired knowledges. The section How to see is the theoretical framework of the course, where you will acquire the basic skills to understand and contextualize an advertising strategy, through the study of art, psychology of perception, philosophy, marketing, rhetoric and history of graphics.
In the section How to design you will study all the stages of the creation and development of an advertising campaign; the analysis of existing campaigns, creative thinking, teamwork, setting up a project, the choice of shapes, colors and layout, both for web and printing. The third phase, how to do, is devoted to the strictly technical skills: the use of the main graphic processing softwares, like Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign.
Moreover you will work on the development of real projects, both personal (such as creating a portfolio and other self-promotional stuff) and commercial, thanks to the professional relationships of the school.
