These are the conditions for all Photography and Multimedia programs. We kindly ask you to check them out and keep them at mind.
Clause 1. BEHAVIOR AND RESPONSIBILITY – Participants attending activities or courses must have proper respect and behave themselves towards the others, the environment and the school facilities. They are responsible for the equipment used and for keeping the rooms clean and organized as respect to other users. It is strictly forbidden: 1) to remove or manumit TheDarkroom Academy’s properties (called TDA from now onward); 2) to cause damage to TDA or to other participants; 3) to hinder the activities; 4) to smoke or to introduce alcoholics inside TDA facilities; 5) to shout or have indecorous behavior in TDA premises. In case of improper or offensive behavior, the Managing Board has the rights to expel the participant. All materials have to be purchased by the participants.
Clause 2. MATERIALS – Everybody is responsible of damages provided to equipment in use and he/she is held to reimbursement. TDA has no responsibility for participants properties left at TDA. Participants must write their names and surnames on everything of their own property left at TDA. At the end of the activity, TDA will remove all materials left in the premises. The school supplies necessary equipments and gears for studio classes and for exclusive in-class use under the supervision of the teacher.
Clause 3. ADMISSION – Enrollment is valid after approval by the Managing Board. Attendance certificate and enrollment certificate will be released only after total payment of the annual fee and activity fee.
Clause 4. PAYMENTS AND FEES – The balance of the payment of enrollment fee have to be completed at the moment of enrollment. In case the payment fee is not completed within the first week, the participant will be suspended until the payment is completed. The missed classes will be lost and no make up will be possible. TDA has the right to expel participants who do not pay for the activities. In case participants quit in advance, take vacations or in case of absence for illness or any other personal reason, they have no right to make up for lost time and money paid will not be refunded. Fees or deposits cannot be hand over. Participants have to respect forms of payment decided by the Managing Board.
Clause 5. ENROLLMENTS – Academic courses open with a minimum of 3 participants. An extra fee may be required to a group of students less than three. The final decision is at the discretion of the administration. The school reserves the right to not open a course.
Clause 6. CANCELLATION AND REFUND – The payment will be refunded in full in case of cancellation before 30 days from the start of the course. In the case of cancellation on a date less than 30 days before the start of the course, the sum will be retained by the school, with no refund. In the case of course cancellation by the school, a full refund will be given unless a VISA certificate was produced. In any other case, the school will not give a refund based on participant cancellation. TDA must be informed on any cancellation through priority mail, fax or email. Phone calls or phone messages (SMS, MMS, Facebook, etc…) will be ignored.
Clause 7. VISA – Payment must be completed in full at time of application. In the case the VISA was denied for reasons related to the school, it is necessary to send a copy of the document of the Consulate denying the VISA with the motivation clearly stated on the document, within one week before the beginning of the course/activity, and the activity fees will be refunded for the half the amount paid. If the reason for the VISA denial is not related to the school or the school’s status, no refund whatsoever will be given.
Clause 8. FEES – The fees for all activities are published on the web site www.thedarkroom.it under the link ‘Dates and Catalogue’ and the undersigned declares to know them.
Clause 9. SCHEDULES, TIMETABLES AND COURSE DURATION – Wherever specified that the duration of a specific course is one month, we intend 4 weeks. One hour of lesson consists of 50 minutes lesson and 10 minutes break, organized by the teachers. Schedules and timetables for activities are given at the time of beginning of the course. All the teachers keep an attendance register, and the attendance to all the courses is mandatory. As stated in the Clause 5, due the case the number of participants to any course is less than 3, the school reserves the right to halve the total amount of hours as indicated in the course program or in the catalogue or to ask for an extra fee.
Clause 10. LESSONS – No make up classes are due for late arrival to class, Holidays, school vacations and national feast-days. Hours spent in visiting shows, movies, exhibitions, museums, events, etc…are included in the course schedule. TDA reserves itself the right to vary study plan, timetable, fees. TDA reserves itself the right to stop a course whenever the minimum limit of 3 participants is not reached.
Clause 11. PARTICIPATION TO ACTIVITIES – It is not possible to attend classes/courses with no prior enrollment to that specific class/course.
Clause 12. REGULATION OBSERVANCE – The Managing Board has the right to expel participants who do not respect one or more of the rules herewith or who do not respect the implicit rules of the common public spirit and good manners. Specific rules to maintain the facilities are shown wherever necessary.
Clause 13. RESPONSIBILITY – The undersigned declares to bear all responsibilities for his/her own activities and/or actions carried out for TDA, also inside the building, premises of TDA. He/she releases also from any duty the TDA’s representative abandoning since now any claim for compensation toward TDA and its representative.
Clause 14. EXAMS AND EVALUATIONS – In order to have right of access to the exams it is necessary for all fees to be paid in full. It is not possible to submit exams, tests, portfolio outside the required terms.
Clause 15. ACCOMMODATION – Centro Italiano Firenze can assist students with finding accommodations through outside agents.
Clause 16. PRIVACY – The undersigned authorize his/her personal details to be made available to TDA according to the Italian Law concerning privacy (L. 196/03) and authorizes the transmission of such data to Medi Terra Media and Centro Italiano Firenze.
