A basic level Graphic Design course to be introduced to the world of advertising graphics

The graphic designer works for the creation of logos, corporate coordinated images, catalogs, posters, flyers, brochures, banners and websites. Create layouts where photographs, illustrations and text are organized and sorted clearly and intriguingly.

He/she collaborates with photographers, illustrators, copywriters, printers, business managers, marketing department, coordinating the production of advertising material.

The professional figure of the graphic designer works in graphic studios, at companies or as a freelance. This professional figure is used in the creation of various promotional and advertising material, creating the style that characterizes its uniqueness.

What is Graphic Design

Colors, photographs and text: how to shape your creativity. Graphics are a subject that arouses great interest, increasingly growing and increasingly widespread to all thanks also to the use of social networks and electronic devices such as smartphones and tablets.

Logos, photographs, colors, text, shapes and layouts how to learn how to make the contents of company profiles, web pages, banners, brochures, posters and flyers interesting, fascinating and legible.

A good graphic designer creates logos, composes layouts by combining photographs, text, colors and shapes in a clear, legible but above all arousing interest, curiosity and charm from readers and users.

The course develops projects aimed at creating a brand / logo, a brochure with text and photographs as well as cross-media advertising material and socials.

Some examples of projects to be carried out are construction of company logos, photographic retouching, study and layout of print formats (brochures, posters, magazines, etc.), use of the graphics and photographic retouching programs of the Adobe package (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign) .

Goals of the course

This course is intended to train the student so that he can design graphic material independently. A massive exercise for stimulating creativity is proposed during the course.

Access requirements

The basic course is open at all amateurs, those who have aroused interest in the subject and who have basic knowledge of Adobe graphics programs (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign). A personal laptop is necessary.

Golden Section.
How to manage the proportions and the space in the construction of logos, typefaces and layout.

How to let Illustrator work.
Creative exercises with Illustrator, learn how to use the program by experimenting.

Photoshop and its wonders.
How it works and how it can be useful in designing and photographic retouching.

Sketchbook.
That is the search for iconographic, graphic, historical material, in short all that there is to
know on the subject of our project.

Deepening of graphics software.
Exercises on Illustrator in team work mode.

Deepening of graphics software.
Exercises on Photoshop and InDesign in team work mode.

Simulation of a Briefing.
How to approach a graphic design project, a project to be developed will be handed out
to the students.

Team work.
The development of each student’s graphic project will be discussed in class.

Project delivery and final evaluations.
Students will present their work to the class.
