Description

A graphic design course to start designing advertising solutions independently

This course is aimed at students of the basic level graphics course, as a continuation of a course of study that concentrates its teaching in a short, practical and intensive program.

However, it is also open to those who already have a basic knowledge of graphic design techniques and who wish to start a study path aimed at advertising graphic communication.

Hands-on graphics

In this course the student will be involved in the making of graphic projects as Type face design, of corporate identities, magazine design.
Use of Adobe package software: Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.

Deepening the graphics programs, learning how to manage and learn the secrets of Illustrator and Photoshop. Approach to the client briefing in order to develop the project following the client’s instructions.

During the intermediate course the student will learn how to organize graphic projects, managing time and resources. They will deepen the basic knowledge of the software and the approach to the subject by discovering aspects of print and multimedia production.

Goals of the course

This course is intended to train the student so that he can design graphic material independently.

It will provide a complete and solid training that will make the student autonomous in the preparation of promotional graphic and advertising projects. Understanding and practice of the preparation phases of the Graphic projects, from the project to the print production.

A massive exercise for stimulating creativity is proposed during the course.

Access requirements

The intermediate course is aimed at those who have a basic knowledge of the approach of Graphics projects, such as catalogs, magazines, corporate identities, as well as the use of Adobe graphics software (Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign). A personal laptop is necessary.

For to access intermediate and advanced courses of graphic design without having attended the basic course, we ask you to submit a portfolio of works along with a short interview for to assess your level.

Program

Program – intermediate level

Grid construction for logos, lettering and magazine layout.
Why and what is it for?

How to use the logotype grid.
Exercises in the classroom to experiment.

How to draw with Illustrator.
Exercises to better use the tools of the software.

Photoshop.
Photo editing, colour profiles, file preparation for printing and the web.

Sketchbook.
That is the search for iconographic, graphic, historical material, in short all that there is to know
on the subject of our project.

Briefing.
Students will develop a project that will engage them in the design of a logotype/brand, the study and realization of a font/typeface and the development of a layout with text and images.

Team work.
The design work is developed in groups, during the lessons will be done exercises such as brain storming and group research.

How to prepare and present a graphic design.

Project delivery and final evaluations.
Students will present their work to the class.
